Rumors that 1. FC Köln have been actively courting Germany U21 and 1. FC Nürnberg winger Robin Hack have come to dominate German websites since a failed medical torpedoed the cathedral city’s attempts to procure striker Streli Mamba on Friday. Hack has been the subject of interest for many clubs both in Germany and abroad this Summer. Mainz, Freiburg, Wolfsburg, and English London-based side Brentford are said to have expressed interest.

If FC Nürnberg coach Robert Klauß has anything to say about it, however, there will be no deal in this window. Klauß, in point of fact, had quite a lot to say to German newspaper “Bild”. “It doesn’t interest me where he wants to go,” Klauß told a reporter, “He’s my player and has a contract.”

“Bild” further quotes Klauß as saying, “We told Robin on Day One that we weren’t going to sell him. This has been repeated several times. I can only repeat myself: We don't want to give Robin up. We’re not giving Robin up!”

Klauß expressed confidence that the club’s attempts to convince Hack that another year in second division would be more advantageous for the 22-year-old carried some weight. “We told him that it would be better for his development to stay here,” Klauß noted, “I think this is a realization Rbin is slowly coming around to.”
