RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann confirms interest in Alexander Sørloth

Alexander Sørloth could replace Patrik Schick at RB Leipzig, confirms Julian Nagelsmann.
RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed speculation that the Bundesliga side have shown interest in Alexander Sørloth.

The Bundesliga side were initially hoping to sign Patrik Schick after his loan spell, but have struggled to reach an agreement with the striker's parent club, AS Roma.

While Schick now appears headed for a move to Leverkusen, RB Leipzig could instead bring in Sørloth, who is currently playing for Turkish side Trabzonspor on loan from Crystal Palace until 2021.

"He is a good player, who could be a replacement for Patrik Schick. We are in talks with him," said Nagelsmann, according to RBLive.de.

"He had a very good season at Trabzonspor, scoring many goals. If he could replicate that goal ratio in the Bundesliga, it would be outstanding," added the 33-year-old.

Nagelsmann also hinted Sørloth's price could exceed the €20 million budget reportedly set by the club.

"It's not like there are 50 players on the market to choose from. Perhaps the transfer will be one or two euros more expensive than otherwise."

Sørloth scored 33 goals in 49 games last season.
