In a highly revealing interview with German footballing magazine Kicker, head coach Oliver Glasner spoke in detail about the many more transfer moves Bundesliga fans can expect involving VfL Wolfsburg.

In an interview with German footballing publication Kicker, Glasner emphasized that efforts to further augment the team were far from finished. “We’re not finished with our active efforts to strengthen the squad,” Glasner told the magazine, “I’m fairly certain that it will look different on October 6th than it does today.”
The article in which Glasner is quoted goes on to note that there should be plenty of activity at Wolfsburg with respect to both entries and exits. It has been established that center back Jeffrey Bruma (who has likely lost his starting position to Marin Pongracic), attacking midfielder Yunus Malli (another returning loan player with dim starting XI prospects), and disaffected versatile defender Marcel Tisserand have all been permitted to leave.
In addition to these potential departures, striker Wout Weghorst and winger Josip Brekalo are said to have been mulling over the possibility of transfers in recent weeks. “Players have attracted interest from different clubs,” Glasner noted, “There may some who wish to make a change”.
An additional striker and a speedy appears to be in Glasner’s sites. Germany U21 winger Linton Maina of Hannover 96, a deal for whom fell through earlier, remains on the shopping list. A reliable starting right fullback also constitutes a pressing need for the Wolves. A cruciate ligament rupture will keep William Furtado out for some time and Kevin Mbabu will also miss weeks after suffering his own knee injury. The club will have to look for an external replacement.
