Hee-chan Hwang ready to make his RB Leipzig debut, Benjamin Henrichs not an option to start yet

RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann says new signing Hee-chan Hwang could start against FC Nürnberg on Saturday. Benjamin Henrichs, on the other hand, isn't fit enough for the starting eleven yet.
Hee-chan Hwang could be in line for his RB Leipzig debut as 'Die Roten Bullen' kick off their 2020/21 campaign in the DFB-Pokal against FC Nürnberg on Saturday.

The 24-year-old, who has joined the club from RB Salzburg, is "definitely" a candidate for the starting eleven, said RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann at the pre-match press conference.

"He had problems in his first week and wasn't at 100 percent. But last week, he was very, very good. He's very hard to defend against. He won't score 35 goals, but he will hurt his opponents very much because of his speed and low centre of gravity," said Nagelsmann.

Meanwhile, the game comes too soon for another new signing, Benjamin Henrichs, who is working to get back to full fitness after recovering from an injury.

"I would say that due to his injury, he isn't ready for the starting line-up yet," Nagelsmann said about the AS Monaco loanee.

"He lacks a bit of training rhythm, and we want him to find stability instead of going from one painful injury to another," he added.
