Matthias Ginter pledges loyalty to Gladbach

Gladbach defender Matthias Ginter has no plans of leaving Borussia-Park anytime soon.
Matthias Ginter has committed himself to Borussia Mönchengladbach, telling Sport Bild that he has "never though about" departing Borussia-Park despite being linkedd with the likes of Inter, Atlético Madrid and Chelsea in the past.

"I feel extremely comfortable here in Gladbach and have a very trusting relationship with the club bosses, coaches and players," said Ginter.

"Furthermore, something has really come into being here in the past few years, and I believe that we are far from being at the end of our development. I'm eager for the new challenges ahead."

Asked if he could imagine staying beyond 2022, at which point his contract expires, Ginter responded:

"Money has never been my motivation. I could have earned a lot more at other clubs in the past, both when I moved from Freiburg to BVB and when I made the switch from BVB to Gladbach. And: Yes, basically I can well imagine staying with Borussia beyond 2022."

Ginter, 26, joined Gladbach from Dortmund in 2017.
