The "Super Dane" stays! Yussuf Poulsen re-ups with Leipzig until 2024

A club statement said it all. "Our Super-Dane stays," read a statement posted on RB Leipzig's website. Die Roten Bullen announced that their ultimate club-man has re-signed until 2024. 
RasenBallSport Leipzig, only existence for 11 years, have one specific player to thank more than any other for their rise from the third division to an elite Champions League side. The numbers are simply astounding. 

When Yussuf Poulsen came on board in 2013, he scored 10 goals in 36 appearances for the Saxons in Germany's third division. He added another 18 tallies in 61 appearances during Leipzig's stint in the second tier. As a top-flight Bundesliga professional, he's scored thirty times in 114 league matches. 

Factoring in the Champions League, Europa League, and DFB-Pokal, Leipzig's most utilized player's totals sum to 58 goals in 211 appearances. 

The 26-year-old Danish international's career has a ways to go yet. Now that he'll stay in Leipzig for a projected total of 11 years, he can hope to eventually pass Daniel Frahn and Timo Werner to claim the club's all-time scoring record. Poulsen still needs some twenty goals to catch Werner and a little less than thirty to best Frahn.
