Milot Rashica given some time off after his transfer broke down on deadline day

Milot Rashica has been given the rest of the week off after he didn't get the move he was hoping for on deadline day.
It's no secret that Milot Rashica wanted to leave Werder Bremen during the summer transfer window.

After being linked with a number of clubs outside of the Bundesliga for months, the 24-year-old came close to a late move to Bayer Leverkusen, but a transfer didn't materialize before Monday's deadline.

Rashica has now been given the rest of the week off to help him get used to the fact that he will be staying at Werder for the months to come.

"The last few days were not easy for Milot as things went back and forth. That's why we have decided to give him the week off to get his mind off this, so he can focus on Werder again," Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt told the Weser-Kurier.

"Of course he was disappointed and had to work through it. This experience isn't good for him. Maybe it will take a while for him to process what happened," said Werder sporting director Frank Baumann.

Still lacking match fitness after recovering from a knee injury, Rashica isn't part of the Kosovo squad for the upcoming international fixtures.
