Germany's second string were given a run out as Joachim Löw's side drew 3-3 with Turkey in a friendly in Köln on Wednesday.

With a number of key players rested, including Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry and Toni Kroos, Löw handed rare starts to the likes of Bernd Leno, Benjamin Henrichs, Nico Schulz and Luca Waldschmidt.

Gladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus was in the line-up to make his first appearance for the senior national team while Jonas Hofmann and Mahmoud Dahoud came on for their debuts in the second half.

Captaining Löw's side tonight, Julian Draxler broke the deadlock shortly before the break as he lifted the ball over the Turkish goalkeeper after latching on to a pass from Kai Havertz.

Ozan Tufan equalled the score in the 50th minute as his shot from the edge of the area deflected off a German player and over Leno into the net.

Eight minutes later, Florian Neuhaus restored Germany's lead, finishing off a quick passing move with a cool left-footed shot to get on the scoresheet on his debut.

But in the 67th minute, Turkey pulled one back again through Efecan Kareca, who scored after stealing the ball from the German defence with a push on Neuhaus.

With 81 minutes on the clock, Luca Waldschmidt sent Germany ahead once more as he scored with a powerful finish inside the box, but his goal was cancelled out by Kenan Karaman, who made it 3-3 in injury time.

Germany now have two UEFA Nations League fixtures coming up, with 'Die Mannschaft' set to face Ukraine on Saturday and Switzerland on Tuesday.
