Lucas Hernandez has spoken of his admiration for Atlético Madrid coach Diego Simeone ahead of Bayern München's clash with his former club in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The French international has won the World Cup under Didier Deschamps and the treble with Bayern under Hansi Flick, but still sees Simeone as the best coach in the world.
"I'm very grateful to him for all that he has done. In my opinion, he's the best coach in the world. He took me from the youth team to the first team and put his trust in me," Hernandez told reporters at the pre-match press conference.
Hernandez is relishing the chance to go up against his former teammates for the first time since his €80 million move to Bayern last year.
"I'm looking forward to facing my former teammates, but it's clear that only Bayern count for me on the pitch. We want to win every game," said Hernandez.
