Bremen confirm loss of Füllkrug for up to a month

SV Werder Bremen confirmed on Monday that their leading goal-scorer may be out injured for as long as four weeks.
Results from a club MRI on Monday confirmed that lead striker Niclas Füllkrug has sustained a calf injury that will keep him off the field until at least after the coming international break.

The scorer of four goals though five rounds for the Hanseaten missed much of last season due to injury. His absence definitely played a role in the club's descent into the relegation fight.

Despite the loss, there did emerge some hopeful news from the Bremen camp. Contrary to initial fears, it appears as if striker Yuya Osako merely incurred a bruise in Sunday's match against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

Both players had to leave the pitch in the 1-1 draw.
