Bayern hero Kimmich notes ealier miss was "embarassing"

Another Joshua Kimmich wonder goal to the rescue! The 25-year-old national team star nevertheless remained critical of his own performance following their 13th consecutive UEFA Champions League victory.

Speaking to German broadcaster DAZN after Bayern's dramatic 2-1 victory over Lokomotiv Moscow, Joshua Kimmich labelled the result a "hard-fought victory". He was quick do add, "but we didn't play our best tonight. We'll take the win with us even though we know we weren't brilliant."


Kimmich's skillful distance effort very much rescued Bayern as they wilted late against the run of play. Referring to a specific chance he had to put the German side up 2-0 in the 57th, Kimmich noted "We have to finish off the game earlier, and that includes me."

A dazzling finish on the spin proved insufficient for the converted midfielder to forgive his earlier mistake. 

"I've trained to finish outside the box the odd time or two. In the last instance it worked out quite well," he noted. He then referred to the missed opportunity to convert Serge Gnabry's cross "just plain embarrassing."
