Ralf Rangnick believes Dayot Upamecano is ready for Bayern

Dayot Upamecano has got what it takes to play for Bayern München, according to former RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick.
Former RB Leipzig boss Ralf Rangnick believes Dayot Upamecano is capable of playing for Bayern München.

The Bavarians are said to have lined up the RB Leipzig centre-back as a potential replacement for Jerome Boateng and David Alaba, who are both out of contract next summer.

And according to Rangnick, the 22-year-old would be able to make an impact at Allianz Arena.

"Why not? Physically, nobody will run away from him as Bayern have already seen in their direct encounters. He will certainly learn in the next few years that he sometimes plays a few too many risky balls forward," Rangnick told Sport1 on Sunday and added:

"The question is, what does the player want? I got to know 'Upa' and his family over many years. They don't just base their decisions on what make them look good image-wise, but on what is best for the player himself."
