After picking up a muscle injury on international duty, Jonas Hofmann hopes to be able to make his return against Bayern München in January.
Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Jonas Hofmann has set his sights on making his return from injury in time for his side's Bundesliga game against Bayern München on January 8.
The 28-year-old midfielder has been in excellent form for Gladbach this season, but now faces a spell on the sidelines after being forced off with a muscle injury in Germany's 1-0 win over the Czech Republic last week.
"Of course it hurts a lot. An injury never comes at the right time, but it's very bitter at the moment," Hofmann told Bild and added:
"I will do everything I can to get back on the pitch as quickly as possible. The next three or four weeks will show whether I can return before Christmas and how well my injury is healing. A realistic goal is to be back against Bayern on January 8."
Hofmann has netted four times and set up six goals in 11 games for Gladbach this season.
