Uli Hoeness backs Thomas Müller for Germany recall

Uli Hoeness believes Thomas Müller is worthy of a place in Joachim Löw's Germany squad.
Bayern München honorary president Uli Hoeness says he expects Thomas Müller to return to the German national team ahead of next year's European Championship.

Germany coach Joachim Löw has left Müller out of his squad since March 2019, when the Bayern forward was excluded from the national team set-up along with Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels.

But in light of Müller's good form, Hoeness is confident the 31-year-old will force his way back into Löw's team.

"He's an asset for every team with the form he's in at the moment," Hoeness told BR.

"If it stays this way, I'm convinced that 'Jogi' Löw will not be able to overlook him in the spring."

Müller has made 18 appearances for Bayern this season, racking up nine goals and nine assists.

He has represented his country 100 times in the past, finding the net 38 times.
