Sebastian Rudy has left Bayern München to join Schalke 04 on a four-year contract, the clubs have announced.

Schalke 04 coach Domenico Tedesco says he is confident Rudy can help the team with his quality and experience.

"We are happy that Sebastian has joined our journey here at Schalke. We will get a very intelligent and technically good player who has already proved his abilities at an international level," Tedesco told schalke04.de.

Rudy explains that he feels Schalke are moving in the right direction - and he wants to be a part of the project.

"I'm convinced of the way that the club want to go, and I want to be a part of it. I'm looking very much forward to the fans and the atmosphere at Schalke," the midfielder said.

Schalke have reportedly paid €16 million to sign Rudy, 28, who will wear shirt number 13 at his new club.

Rudy joined Bayern München from Hoffenheim in 2017 and made 35 appearances for the club with one goal and five assists to his name.
