Report: Dortmund want Marco Rose as a replacement for Lucien Favre

Marco Rose has emerged as an early favorite to become Dortmund's new coach following the departure of Lucien Favre.
Borussia Dortmund want Borussia Mönchengladbach coach Marco Rose to take over from the recently sacked Lucien Favre, according to various reports.

Favre lost his job in the weekend following a disastrous 1-5 loss to Stuttgart, with his assistant Edin Terzic put in charge until the end of the season.

'Die Schwarzgelben' have naturally started looking for Favre's long-term successor, and Rose is understood to be the main candidate.

According to Bild, Rose has a release clause in his contract with Gladbach, which expires in 2022.

Meanwhile, Ruhr Nachrichten is reporting that Dortmund made contact with Rose 'some time ago' and that talks between the parties were 'very far' before Favre was dismissed.

Ralf Rangnick, Mauricio Pochettino, Jesse Marsch and Julian Nagelsmann have also been mentioned as possible replacements for Favre.
