Gladbach midfielder Jonas Hofmann may be on course to return from a torn thigh-muscle cluster well ahead of schedule.
Gladbach trainer Marco Rose confirmed on Monday that fohlen and German national team midfielder Jonas Hofmann will be travel with the team for their Tuesday Pokal fixture against fourth-tier side SV Elversberg.
The 28-year-old had been on track for a breakout season, tallying twice (on penalties) and racking up four assists until a torn thigh muscle bundle sidelined him indefinitely after week seven.
Hofmann was initially not expected to return to the team until after the new year, but is, according to Rose, fit an available after successfully completing three training sessions.
Rose indicated that a full 90-minute-deployment for Hofmann remained likely out-of-the-question, but left open the question as to whether he might still feature in the starting XI.
