RB Leipzig to open contract talks with Marcel Sabitzer in spring amid England links

RB Leipzig are planning to sit down for contract talks with reported Tottenham target Marcel Sabitzer in the spring, says sporting director Markus Krösche.
RB Leipzig are planning to open negotiations over a new contract for club captain Marcel Sabitzer, whose current deal expires in 2022.

"We wanted to end the year first. Both sides will deal with the issue more intensively in the spring," RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche told Bild.

Sabitzer has been linked with a move to the English Premier League with Tottenham understood to be particularly interested in acquiring the Austrian international's services.

Asked about the reported interest in Sabitzer, Krösche says it's no surprise to him that the 26-year-old has attracted suitors.

"His development has been super. It's clear that other clubs have noticed this," said the RB Leipzig boss.
