Bouna Sarr compares himself with Franck Ribery
Bouna Sarr has drawn parallels between himself and former Bayern München star Franck Ribery.
Bayern München right-back Bouna Sarr has likened himself to club legend Franck Ribery, lauding the 37-year-old as an example to follow.
Just like Ribery, Sarr played for Metz and Olympique Marseille before joining Bayern München, and he even used to play as a winger like his older French compatriot.
Sarr, who joined Bayern from Marseille last summer, told the German champions' official club magazine, '51':
"If you look at our clubs then it's true we've followed almost the identical route. He was at Metz, Marseille and Bayern – just like me. When I was a winger, he was my absolute role model.
"I probably won't win as many titles as he did. He was much younger when he came here – but it's an incentive to me to repeat as many of his successes as possible."
Ribery made 425 appearances for Bayern, racking up 124 goals and 182 assists, before joining Fiorentina in the summer of 2019.
