Report: Dortmund to allow Schulz and Brandt to leave this month

Bild claims Borussia Dortmund are ready to sell Nico Schulz and send Julian Brandt out on loan this month.
Borussia Dortmund would allow Nico Schulz and Julian Brandt to depart the club during the January transfer window, according to Bild.

'Die Schwarzgelben' are said to be ready to cash in on Schulz, who has failed to make an impact following his €25 million switch from Hoffenheim in 2019, if a suitable offer comes in.

Brandt, on the other hand, is not for sale, but could be sent out on loan to find more playing time.

Having started just six Bundesliga games in the 2020/21 campaign, the 24-year-old has struggled to nail down a starting place this season.

But Dortmund remain hopeful the 24-year-old will eventually make his breakthrough at Signal Iduna Park and therefore don't want to sell him.

Brandt has been linked with a move to Arsenal, but BVB sporting director Michael Zorc claimed last week that there has been no contact between the two clubs.
