Raphael Guerreiro has confirmed that he came close to leaving Borussia Dortmund for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2019.
But he ultimately ended up staying at Signal Iduna Park and recently extended his contract with 'Die Schwarzgelben' until 2023.
"There were very extensive discussions," Guerreiro told beIN Sports (via PSG Talk).
"I was pretty much okay with going. After there were changes at the club, and it took another direction. I continued here in Dortmund.
"Now I want to say that luckily I extended here because I think I had the best season of my career and I hope to continue like that."
After racking up eight goals and five assists in 38 games last season, Guerreiro has gone on to find the net three times and set up six goals in 18 games during the 2020/21 campaign so far.
