Sport Bild claims RB Leipzig will not necessarily cash in on Tottenham-linked Marcel Sabitzer in the summer even if he doesn't want to sign a contract extension.

RB Leipzig would consider letting Marcel Sabitzer head into the final year of his contract, according to Sport Bild.

The Austrian international, who has been linked with Tottenham in particular, is under contract until 2022 and is reportedly planning to run down his deal as he targets a move to England.

If Sabitzer doesn't want to sign a new deal, RB Leipzig could cash in on him in the summer to avoid losing him for free, but the Bundesliga side will only sell if they believe they can find a suitable replacement for the same price, according to Sport Bild.

In the past, when RB Leipzig were negotiating new deals with Timo Werner and Dayot Upamecano, club CEO Oliver Mintzlaff underlined that no player would be allowed to leave the club on a free transfer, but this rule is no longer set in stone, as per the report.

In addition to Sabitzer, Emil Forsberg, Willi Orban and Marcel Halstenberg are out of contract in 2022. According to Sport Bild, Orban and Halstenberg are both considered likely to sign new deals while Forsberg's future is more unclear.
