Embolo divulges nature of corona-breach and issues apology

Borussia Mönchengladbach forward Breel Embolo revealed the exact nature of his corona-related rule breach on Monday evening and apologized to his teammates via Instagram.
The circumstances leading to Breel Embolo's temporary drop from the active Gladbach roster were revealed late Monday. The attacker himself admitted that he had travelled to a friend's house in Essen on Saturday evening to watch a basketball game. The apartment was in the immediate vicinity of a private party.

Local police officers called to the scene of the larger gathering encountered Embolo and took down his information. His breach of team quarantine protocols was then reported to the club. Embolo denied that he attended the party itself in his post, while admitted that he shouldn't have been in Essen in the first place.

"That was a mistake in this day and age," Embolo wrote on his social media platform, "It was stupid of me and I apologize to my teammates, the club, and especially the fans."

The official policy of the club dictates that Embolo must furnish several negative COVID tests before being allowed to return to team training.
