FC Köln are understood to be looking into the possibility of taking VfL Wolfsburg striker Daniel Ginczek on loan until the end of the season.

According to Bild, Köln have been working on a potential deal for Ginczek for a while, and the parties have been in contact.

But Ginczek's reported salary of €3.5 million per season is a major hurdle for Köln, who have a transfer budget of just €500,000 this winter, as per the German publication.

Therefore, both Wolfsburg and the player himself would therefore have to make great sacrifices to make the deal possible. Nevertheless, Köln haven't given up on signing the former Stuttgart forward yet.

Ginczek has been limited to just nine games this season with a goal and an assist to his name.
