Borussia Mönchengladbach have handed Breel Embolo a heavy fine for breaching coronavirus regulations.
Embolo visited a friend in Essen and reportedly took part in an illegal party following Gladbach's 2-2 draw with VfB Stuttgart on 16 January.
"Breel's inconsiderate and wrong actions on the night of our Bundesliga game in Stuttgart broke regulations that are in place for every single person in this country, and following them for us as a Bundesliga club is mandatory in order for football to be able to take place," said Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl in a statement.
"We have therefore decided that he must pay a substantial fine. We have informed him of this and he has accepted the punishment," he added.
