Schalke boss Huub Stevens on Ozan Kabak: 'He hasn't felt that comfortable'

Schalke 04 boss Huub Stevens has spoken out on the decision to let Ozan Kabak join Liverpool on loan on deadline day.
Schalke 04 supervisory board member Huub Stevens has revealed that Ozan Kabak 'hasn't felt that comfortable' recently.

Kabak, who left Schalke to join Liverpool on loan with an option to buy on deadline day, has struggled to cope with the pressure that has mounted on the crisis-hit club due to their disappointing performances this season, according to Stevens.

"You have to be honest. If a club like Liverpool FC knock on our door for a player, then you can be stubborn and say no. But not in the situation Schalke are in," Stevens told Sport1 and added:

"Kabak is a young defender, who has suffered a lot from pressure in recent months. He hasn't felt that comfortable, especially in our most recent games.

"Like many others, he has struggled to clear his mind."

Stevens announced on Monday that he will step down from his board role at Schalke at the end of the season.
