RB Leipzig reportedly leading the race for Ajax starlet Brian Brobbey

Ajax starlet Brian Brobbey could be headed for a move to RB Leipzig.
RB Leipzig have emerged as front-runners in the race for Ajax striker Brian Brobbey, according to De Telegraaf and Bild.

The likes of Bayern München, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be interested in the highly-rated 19-year-old striker, who will be leaving Ajax on a free transfer when his contract expires this summer.

"We think it is too bad [that he’s leaving] and have done everything to keep him at Ajax longer. He has chosen to play football elsewhere after the summer," said Ajax director of football affairs Marc Overmars in a statement.

"It's difficult for me to accept, but it's his decision. Brian is still under contract with us for a few months, if we need him the trainers will call on him."

Brobbey has found the net two times in six games for Ajax's first team.
