Confirmed: Gladbach-Manchester City fixture also moves to Budapest

Late Monday evening, UEFA confirmed that the February 24th Champions League encounter between Borussia Mönchengladbach and Manchester City will be moves to the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary.
Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl and club managing director Stephan Schippers confirmed on Monday that they, like Bundesliga colleagues RasenBallSport Leipzig, had opted to move their upcoming UEFA Champions League home fixture eastward to Hungary.

Both Leipzig and Gladbach were forced to find alternate venues for their round-of-16 home legs due to current travel restrictions that ban English clubs from entering the Bundesrepublik.

The move came as somewhat of a surprise as various German media sources reported that Gladbach administrators favoured moving the match north to FC Midtylland's stadium in Herning, Denmark.

In a short statement, Eberl and Schippers simply said that they had chosen Budapest for "various reasons" and thanked both UEFA and the Hungarian football association for their support.
