Premier League giants target RB Leipzig's Ibrahima Konate

The French center-back is one of Bundesliga's hottest properties.
Ibrahima Konate is one of RB Leipzig’s biggest talents in the back, alongside French compatriot Dayot Upamecano – who are now both on the radars of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

According to reports emerging from England by The Independent, Konate is now one of Manchester United’s top priorities in the back. After having failed to gain Dayot Upamecano’s attention, amid heightened interest from Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Chelsea - United now have turned their sights towards Konate.

His contract at Leipzig runs until 2023, making him an increasingly likely transfer to another club. But the French defender has not been without his share of problems – facing ankle and hip injuries this whole season – restricting himself to only 12 appearances.

Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea are also said to be in the race to sign the young defender, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might be the most keen to lure Konate in order to boost the Red Devils’ defense.

The 21-year-old center back has seen a major upsurge in value after moving from FC Sochaux in 2017. His market value then stood at €300,000. However, now it’s a whole different story. Konate’s value stands near the €40m mark, a towering rise within a span of 3-4 years for the youngster.
