Gross confirms Bentaleb will be in Schalke's squad to face Union

Nabil Bentaleb could be in line to feature for the first time since November when Schalke 04 face Union Berlin on Saturday.
Schalke 04 coach Christian Gross has confirmed that Nabil Bentaleb will come back into his squad for Saturday's Bundesliga encounter with Union Berlin.

Bentaleb was suspended indefinitely for disciplinary reasons back in November, but the midfielder returned to training with the first-team squad earlier this week.

Now, he could be in line to make his first appearance in months.

"I've got no previous history with Nabil. He's a good footballer. His integration this week has gone well, now it's up to him to force himself into the team," Gross told reporters at the pre-match press conference.

"He's glad to be back. He's worked hard on himself and will be in the squad - he may even start the game."

The Schalke coach also confirmed that Suat Serdar and Timo Becker are fit again and ready to play.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Mark Uth and Salif Sané, on the other hand, are all sidelined.
