Confirmed: Bayern fetch Omar Richards for 2021/22 campaign
German giants FC Bayern München proceed with their plans for rebuilding their defensive ranks for next season.
On the same day of Dayot Upamecano's signing, it has also been confirmed that Reading's Omar Richards will arrive in the summer.
Evidently consigned to the departures of David Alaba and Jerome Boating after the season, Germany's record champions continue to waste no time inking replacements for their soon-to-be-departed defenders.
On the same day of Dayot Upamecano's signing, it has also been confirmed that Reading's Omar Richards will arrive in the summer.
Bayern capture London-born left-back Omar Richards one day shy of his 23rd birthday. The current Reading Royals fullback will arrive this summer on a free-transfer. Richards has made 77 appearances over the course of four seasons in the EFL Championship.
The signing of another left-back to a four-year-contract likely means that the Bavarians are no longer likely to express interest in any other possibilities at the position. The deal also renders Lucas Hernandez's place as Alphonso Davies' backup no longer tenable.
Bayern may be looking to potentially shop Hernandez, or plan to move him into central defence permanently.
