Goretzka and Flick praise Musiala after Lazio victory

Jamal Musiala was singled out for praise after Bayern München's 4-1 win over Lazio, which saw him become the club's youngest scorer in Champions League history.
Bayern München midfielder Leon Goretzka and head coach Hansi Flick lavished praise on Jamal Musiala following Tuesday's 4-1 victory over Lazio in the Champions League.

The youngster was in the line-up and became the club's youngest scorer in competition history at the age of 17 years and 363 days with his well-taken 2-0 goal.

"He was extremely happy to play from the start, you could tell that," Goretzka told reporters after the game.

"We tried to make him play freely and not worry too much. 'Jo' [Kimmich] and I protected his back and give him the freedom he needs. He did well."

"We're all happy that Jamal played well and scored the goal. He did a good job," said Flick.

"Jamal is very secure on the ball, can also play well between the lines. He has a good sense of which spaces to be in. We wanted to create overloads and passing lines in the zones between the lines and in the half-spaces, and he did that well," added the Bayern coach.
