Confirmed: Bremen-Regensburg DFB-Pokal tie set for April 7th

This week's postponed DFB-Pokal fixture between SV Swerder Bremen and SSV Jahn Regensburg has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 7th at 18:30.

The draw for the semi-final round of the country's domestic cup will still take place this Sunday on Germany's popular public television program ARD Sportschau.
The suspension off a quarterfinal Pokal tie this weekend garnered significant attention within the Bundesrepublik as four players at second-tier side Jahn Regensburg tested positive for a new, more contagious strain of the novel corona-virus. On Friday, the DFL announced its plans to forge ahead.

Bremen, who already have a round 20 make-up match against Arminnia Bielefeld scheduled for this week, will play against their Bundesliga Two opponents in early April. The semi-final round of the 2020/21 competition will now take place on May 1st and 2nd, less than two weeks before the final.

A draw for the semi-final round will take place this Sunday as scheduled. Holstein Kiel, RB Leipzig, and Borussia Dortmund are already through to the next round. The draw will simply leave a place open for one of the two teams still fighting for advancement to the penultimate round.
