Report: Xabi Alonso to succeed Marco Rose as Gladbach coach

Gladbach are reportedly set to appoint Xabi Alonso as their new coach.
Former Spain international Xabi Alonso will take over as Gladbach coach from the departing Marco Rose this summer, according to Bild.

So far, Gladbach have refused to comment on the report.

It was recently announced that Rose will leave Gladbach for Dortmund at the end of the season.

Alonso is currently the coach of Real Sociedad's second team and is out of contract this summer.

As an active player, the 39-year-old spent three seasons at Bayern München before hanging up his boots in 2017.

He started working as a youth coach at Real Madrid in the summer of 2018 before moving on to his current job at Real Sociedad a year later.
