Löw not making any promises to Wirtz and Musiala

Germany coach Joachim Löw has lavished praise on Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala, but says he can't promise the teenage duo playing time in any of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Germany coach Joachim Löw 'cant promise' that Florian Wirtz (17) and Jamal Musiala (18) will earn their first cap for 'Die Mannschaft' this month.

The two highly-rated youngsters received maiden call-ups to the senior side for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Iceland, Romania and North Macedonia.

Whether they will get to feature in any of the games is unclear, but the call-up alone should be enough to make them proud, said Löw.

"I can't promise that they will make their debuts. The important thing is that they start to integrate," Löw told reporters.

"I don't want to make a judgment after one training session. They are very young, which is extraordinary.

"Being 17 and 18, they can be proud to be called up to the national team because they deserve to be here. They are both very good on the ball and can keep up with the others technically."

Wirtz has appeared 31 times for Bayer Leverkusen this season, racking up seven goals and seven assists, while Musiala has netted four times in 29 games for Bayern München this campaign.
