Liverpool move 'not an issue' for Ibrahima Konaté, according to RB Leipzig boss Markus Krösche

RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche says he doesn't think Ibrahima Konaté is thinking about a move to Liverpool.
On Monday, The Athletic reported that Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konaté, who has a reported €40 million release clause in his contract.

However, speaking in an interview with DAZN, RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche says he doesn't believe the 21-year-old is considering leaving Germany for a move to 'The Reds'.

"I don't think that's an issue for 'Ibo'. He still has a long-term contract with us. I think he knows exactly what he has in us. And we know what we have in him," said Krösche.

"He's an extremely important player, who has a lot of potential, and we want to help him develop further."

Konaté joined RB Leipzig from French side FC Sochaux in 2017 and has since made 89 appearances for the Bundesliga side with four goals and an assist to his name.
