Report: Lewandowski targets quick return from injury
The official diagnosis is that Robert Lewandowski will be out for around four weeks with a knee injury, but the Bayern star is reportedly determined to return in just two weeks.
On Tuesday, Bayern München announced that Robert Lewandowski could be out for up to four weeks after straining a ligament in his right knee on international duty.
However, according to Thursday's edition of Kicker, the Polish international is aiming to return sooner than expected and has set the target of recovering in time for Bayern's Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Paris Saint-Germain in two weeks' time.
But regardless of the Lewandowski's will to come back as soon as possible, it's clear that Bayern will not risk making the injury worse.
"It's just the way it is," Bayern coach Hansi Flick said when asked about the possibility of having to manage without Lewandowski for four weeks.
"We are not taking any risks with him," he added.
