Germany will make a number of changes for the friendly against Peru on Sunday, coach Joachim Löw confirmed at a press conference today.
Hoffenheim left-back Nico Schulz is set for his international debut while Bayer Leverkusen's Julian Brandt and FC Barcelona keeper Marc-André ter Stegen are also certain to start. Mats Hummels will miss the game due to injury.
"Nico Schulz will play on the left side against Peru. Julian Brandt will also start. Marc-André ter Stegen will start in goal. Mats Hummels will not play as he has problems with his achilles tendon. Nothing dramatic, but he needs to take a break for a few days," Löw said.
Löw also said Schulz has generally made 'a good impression' on the training pitch.
"He was present on the pitch right from the start and has incredible power. He has his strengths in the offense, but has also improved defensively here," the German coach said.
Schulz has made 37 appearances for Hoffenheim, scoring three goals and making seven assists.
