Yann Sommer compliments Bayern duo for their qualities

32-year-old Sommer has been one of Monchengladbach's revelations in recent seasons.
Borussia Monchengladbach have one of Germany’s best shot-stoppers in their ranks. Yann Sommer has established himself as a world-class goalkeeper for the club between the posts in recent years.

The Swiss, however, has no hesitancy in admiring the presence of Bundesliga-rival Manuel Neuer as not only the league’s best but also as the best in the world.

Speaking in an exclusive with bundesliga.com, when asked his viewpoint on the best goalkeeper in the word, Sommer said: “He has been consistently at a high level for years, a goalkeeper with plenty of quality. He is a goalkeeper who has earned a reputation as one of the best in the world in recent years.”

Adding further on what it is like to face Lewandowski, he said: "He's a special striker, one of the best I have played against. it's a great challenge for me as a goalkeeper to play against such players.

He has unbelievable quality and I don't need to tell you how good he is"

Sommer has appeared 35 times for Borussia Monchengladbach in a mixed season that has seen them fight for a spot in Europe.
