Puchacz confirms trip to Union Berlin, transfer agreement possibly near

Poland's second most valuable footballer has confirmed contact with 1. FC Union Berlin on a television program in his home country.

According to German footballing magazine Kicker, however, an agreement is not yet finalized to bring Tymoteusz Puchacz to the Bundesrepublik.
On an interview program airing Sunday on Polish broadcast carrier "Canal+", Lech Pozan defender Tymoteusz Puchacz has confirmed reports that he traveled to East Berlin in order to finalize a transfer to Eisern Union of the German Bundesliga.

"I was already in Berlin to meet with the sporting director and coach," Puchacz said on the program, "now I'm awaiting an agreement between the two clubs."

According to an article appearing on the website of German footballing magazine Kicker late Sunday evening, a possible sticking point to the deal may be the transfer fee; confirmed by the magazine as approximately €4 million. It's entirely possible that the two clubs may haggle for some time yet.

Union have already bolstered their ranks for next year with the acquisition of SpVgg Greuther Fürth defender Paul Jaeckel on a free. Another free transfer that should see Augsburg's Rani Khedira come to Köpenick is thought to be nearing confirmation.
