Two-match ban for Glabach's Yann Sommer

The DFB's control committee confirmed its judgement on Gladbach keeper Yann Sommer on Tuesday.
Swiss keeper Yann Sommer will miss out on the 29th and 30th rounds following his red card against Hertha BSC over the weekend. Citing its precedence on "unsportsmanlike conduct", the German FA concluded that Sommer's 13th minute foul on Jhon Cordoba merited a two-match-ban.

Sommer will thus be absent on Saturday when his team faces its next head-coach at Borussia-Park in one of the 15:30 kickoffs. The 32-year-old will also miss out next Wednesday against Hoffenheim.

Back-up keeper Tobias Sippel should thus get his third and fourth starts of the season. The 33-year-old former FC Kaiserslautern backstop has served as Rose's designated DFB-Pokal keeper this season.
