The former central midfielder who was known for his midfield mastery, says Haaland’s links with both Manchester clubs cannot be denied.

Speaking in an interview with talkSPORT, Paul Scholes said: "He'd have a big impact. Do I think it's happening? I think there's every chance.

Current United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Norwegian identity and relationship with the forward may play a huge part in luring him to Old Trafford.

Speaking of which, Scholes said: "I don't know, but there's that relationship with Ole that he's had in the past. We all know how good he is. Man United are desperate for a No 9, an all-out centre-forward. Haaland would be the perfect choice.
.
Erling’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland played for city rivals Manchester City for 3 years between 2000 and 2003.

“Plus, you have to think about his dad with the City link as well. That could be strong in this situation. Let's see. Fingers crossed if he leaves he comes to the red side of Manchester," he said.

Haaland rise to the top of European football has been staggering since his move from RB Salzburg at the end of 2019. He has 49 goals in 53 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions so far.
