Report: Wolfsburg boss Marcel Schäfer a candidate to replace Fredi Bobic at Frankfurt

Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schäfer has reportedly emerged as a candidate to succeed Fredi Bobic as Eintracht Frankfurt sporting CEO.
Eintracht Frankfurt have shortlisted three possible replacements for departing sporting CEO Fredi Bobic, according to Sky.

In addition to RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche and Lazio sporting director Igli Tare, who have already been linked with the job in the past, VfL Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schäfer has emerged as a candidate, per the report.

Schäfer was appointed Wolfsburg sporting director in 2018 and is under contract until 2022.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Bobic will leave Frankfurt at the end of the season to take over as the new head of sport at Hertha BSC.
