The Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) will get a new president next summer. Reinhard Rauball, 71, has confirmed that he will not be available for the election in 2019.
"After intensive considerations, I have decided not to be available again for the DFL job this summer," Rauball said according to dfl.de and added:
"If the road for the future is prepared, it's only logical that a younger person will take over the leadership in a new DFL structure from this point on."
Rauball, who has been DFL president for 11 years, also made it clear that he will continue as the president of Borussia Dortmund.
