After spending a month with the reserves: Geis is back in first-team training

Johannes Geis is back with the first-team at Schalke 04 after training with the reserves for a month.

After spending a month with the reserve team, Johannes Geis was back in training with Schalke's first-team today.

The 25-year-old midfielder was demoted to the reserve team during pre-season as he's not in the plans of Schalke coach Domenico Tedesco.

Now, Geis is back, but his chances of playing time still looks bleak, Tedesco underlined today.

"'Geisi' has a clear mind again. It's okay with us that he's back. He's a good guy. From a sporting point of view, it will remain difficult for him," Tedesco told WAZ.

Geis, who spent last season on loan at Sevilla, played for Schalke's reserves on Sunday in a match against TuS Haltern in the Oberliga - the fifth tier of German football.

The central midfielder joined Schalke from Mainz for €10,5 million in 2015 and has made 61 appearances for 'The Royal Blues' since then.
