Dortmund's Julian Weigl says PSG rumors annoyed him
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl has revealed how he felt about the many rumors linking him with a move to Paris Saint-Germain during the summer.
When former Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel was announced as the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain, Julian Weigl instantly knew that he would eventually be linked with a move to the French capital club.

"That these rumors would come up was clear to me the moment Thomas Tuchel was announced as Paris coach. It's no secret that I got on very well with him at BVB and that he has led me to the level I'm at today. So I prepared for the situation," Weigl told Sport Bild.
Weigl says he didn't care about the rumors in the beginning, but eventually, the many stories started to irritate him.
"When the rumors then eventually started circulating, I didn't care at first. But later on, when the media reported that I had allegedly given a pledge, and my close friends called me and asked why I hadn't told them about my transfer, it started to annoy me," Weigl said.
Weigl did hold several talks with Tuchel who would have liked to take him to Paris. But there was no concrete offer, because Weigl sent a clear message:
"From my side, there was no willingness to leave the BVB this summer."
