Dortmund still await Reyna and Haaland's return as weekend draws nearer

With only two training sessions to go before the critical round 32 showdown with RB Leipzig, Erling Haaland and Giovanni Reyna remain absent from the BVB training pitch.
Dortmund's injured reserve list shrinks slightly from yesterday with the return of Swiss defender Manuel Akanji. The center back's muscular problems were evidently not so severe. The same can not be said of American attacker Giovanni Reyna, who remains sidelined with ill-defined muscular issues and did not even partake in individual exercises during Wednesday's session.

Though hopes were high that lead striker Erling Haaland would return in time to complete three training units before the crucial home fixture against RB Leipzig on Saturday, the Norwegian superstriker still hasn't been able to train with the ball yet since incurring a knock late in round 31's hard fought 2-0 win against Wolfsburg.

Given the existent nature of the race for the top-four, it remains conceivable that trainer Edin Terzic will call upon both players on Saturday irrespective of their fitness levels. A loss or draw this weekend could potentially mean that die Schwarzgelben no longer have the ability to control their destiny in the race for the UCL spots if Wolfsburg and Frankfurt win.
