Bayern München celebrated their ninth straight Bundesliga title with a crushing 6-0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach at Allianz Arena on Saturday.

Borussia Dortmund's 3-2 win over second-placed RB Leipzig earlier today meant the Bavarians could no longer be caught at the top of the table no matter the outcome of their clash with Gladbach.

But despite having nothing to play for, Bayern showed no mercy in Saturday's game at Allianz Arena, which saw them lead 4-0 at half-time.

Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick, taking his league goal tally to 39 for the season, meaning he now just needs to find the net once more to equal Gerd Müller's record of 40 goals in a season.

The Polish international already opened the scoring in the second minute, smashing the ball into the bottom corner, before Thomas Müller made it two in the 23rd minute after being teed up by highly-rated youngster Jamal Musiala.

Bayern then increased their lead through Lewandowski in the 34th minute, with Kingsley Coman chipping in with a fourth just before the break.

Lewandowski completed his hat-trick with a goal from the penalty spot with 66 minutes on the clock, making it 5-0 to Bayern.

Bayern were later reduced to 10 men when second-half substitute Tanguy Nianzou was shown a straight red card for bringing down Breel Embolo in a dangerous position, but that didn't stop them from adding a sixth through Leroy Sané.

The Bavarians are now 10 points ahead of title rivals RB Leipzig at the top of the table. Gladbach, meanwhile, sit seventh, five points behind sixth-placed Bayer Leverkusen with just two games left to play.
