Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Bürki is nearing the end of his days at the Signal Iduna Park after the club has seemingly put Marwin Hitz as the first choice between the posts.

The 30-year-old however will continue for the few remaining games of the season after veteran Hitz was forced off during Dortmund’s 3-2 win over RB Leipzig.

According to reports from Germany, the Swiss goalkeeper is being targeted by Ligue 1’s AS Monaco, who also recently inquired regarding Bayern’s Alexander Nubel.

Dortmund have set a price tag of €5m on Bürki’s services.

A bunch of names have popped up in recent weeks, including Athletic Bilbao’s 23-year-old shot-stopper Unai Simon, Stuttgart’s Gregor Kobel and Polish Serie A duo Wojcech Szczesny of Juventus and Bart Dragowski of Fiorentina.

Bürki has spent six years in Dortmund colours, having moved from SC Freiburg in 2014/15. He has made 228 appearances so far for Die Schwarzengleben.
