Mönchengladbach target talented Southampton wingback
Schalke 04 were the first Bundesliga club to express interest in Yan Valery.
Birmingham City wingback Yan Valery, who earlier appeared as a possible target for Schalke 04, has a new candidate in line for his signature.
According to FootMercato, Borussia Mönchengladbach are said to possess great interest in pursuing the young French right-back.
The fleet footed defender-cum-midfielder is plying his trade in Birmingham, after securing a loan move from Southampton this season. He is on loan until the end of the current season and his contract with the Saints expires at the end of May 2021.
Anything around the region of €5-10m will lure him away from Southampton, but he may well arrive as a free agent.
Valery emerged as a skilful talent during the last five years, first landing in the
Premier League aged 16. Now 22, he has the possibility to develop further in Germany.
Newcastle United and Olympique de Marseille are the other two clubs are said to be interested in him.
